Helica™ Polarizer Products

Helica™ In - Fiber Linear Polarizer

The Helica™ In-Fiber Polarizer (Helica™ IFP), an all-glass polarizer, provides a high extinction ratio over a broad spectral range at a price well below other in-line polarizers.

The Helica™ IFP can be manufactured to meet your spectral and performance specifications, including central wavelength, bandwidth and extinction ratio requirements. Specifications and typical spectra for polarizers with central wavelengths at 1550, 1310, 1064 and 980 nm, our standard products, are shown below. Helica™ IFPs addressing many other wavelength ranges have been supplied. Please speak with us about your specific needs.

Helica™ IFPs have also been used in a variety of sensor applications, one of which is illustrated below. Harsh environment requirements can also be accommodated, including chemical, temperature and radiation resistance. Highly stable operating performance above 200 °C has been demonstrated. Wide varieties of input and output fibers as well as connectors are available to meet your needs.

Applications:
Polarization measurement and control
Coherent transmission
Optical sensors
Test and measurement instrumentation
Navigation instrumentation
R & D

Polarizer as Pressure Sensor:

The schematic below, left, demonstrates usage of a chiral polarizer as a pressure sensor. The input and output fibers are inexpensive conventional single mode fibers (which could be miles long). The graph on the right shows transmission through the sensor as the fiber is loaded, demonstrating a dynamic range greater than 30 dB.

Helica™ In - Fiber Circular Polarizer

Chiral Photonics, Inc. (CPI), introduces an all-glass, in-fiber polarizer based on its proprietary chiral technology that provides a circularly polarized output in a fiber format.

The polarizer can be manufactured to meet your spectral and performance specifications, including central wavelength, bandwidth and extinction ratio requirements. Specifications and an exemplary spectrum are shown below.

Pigtailing and connectorization of the device can be customized as needed. Harsh environment requirements can also be accommodated, including chemical, temperature and radiation resistance.

Please call us to discuss your specific requirements and receive a prompt quotation.
